In this article you will learn how to upload media from different capture devices, how they display on the map and best practices for managing large amounts of visual data.

How drone data displays; images, 360’s and video files

Drone images will be displayed on the map as below, Nadir drone shots will have a halo around them.

  • Each drone can be selected to view the related hi def image

  • Or you can shift select multiple drones to view more

  • 360 images taken by your drone can be uploaded and are visualized with a marker.

  • Video’s taken by your drone can also be visualized on the map, depending on if it has a SRT file attached it will either display a path once you have clicked on it.

How ground based photography displays; Phones & DSLR’s

The Birdi platform will accept files from your phone or a DSLR camera, this ground based photography can be uploaded to the platform and visualized.

Tip - You will need to ensure your geo locating is turned on in the device settings.

  • Just like the drone data, each icon can be selected and will display the related hi def image

  • With the ground based photography we are unable to determine the orientation of the device and these will display on the map as a circle icon
