We have created the ability to upload and visualise video files on the map within a mission. This includes how you can visualise its flight path and what to do if you have not got the correct file type but still want to mark its capture location. To visualise a flight path you will need to attach the related SRT file to the video.

The benefits of visualising the flight path are:

- You can see the drones orientation when the video was captured.

- You can view the drones location on the map during the video playback. (The drone moves in realtime along the path)

In this article you will find a guide to help you navigate these steps and what you can do if you haven't got an SRT file.

In this article you will find information on the below:

What is a SRT file and how do I open it?

A file with the .SRT file extension is a SubRip Subtitle file. These types of files hold video subtitle information like the start and end timecodes of the text and the sequential number of subtitles.

It's important to note that the file itself is just a text file used along with video data. This means it doesn't contain any video or audio data.

Generally, Wordpad or Notepad are the easiest programs to open SRT files with because you can view them in plain text.

Uploading a video file and attaching an SRT file.

To get started you will need to make sure you have created a mission or have an existing mission you would like to add to. If you need help doing this you can follow this article: Creating a mission.

  1. Navigate to the correct mission and the objective you would like to upload to.

  2. Upload the video (mp4) file to the objective.

  3. Once you have uploaded the file you will need to ensure you are on the map view and the media tab.

  4. 4. You can then filter your media for video or search via the file name.

  5. Select the ... and select add DGI / SGT File.

6. Ensure you are selecting the matching SRT file name.

7. Once this file has been uploaded, you will need to follow the below to be able to visualise your file & flight path on the map.

Visualising a flight path on the map view.

  • Refresh your web page.

  • Turn on the media from the bottom right.

  • Select the drone (This will display the flight path).

The flight path will only show when the drone is selected.

Allocating a marker, capture time and date to a video file without an SRT file.

If you have not got a DGI or SRT file you will not be able to visualise the flight path and the location of the video (Drone) will not show up on the map.

To add a location on the map you can select the ... and add a marker. Then click the map where the video was taken.

After you have added the marker you can remove it or edit and adjust the location.
