How to access Single Sign-On (SSO) for Birdi

Written by Kayley Greenland

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows your organisation to manage Birdi login access through your existing identity provider, such as Microsoft Entra ID.

This helps centralise authentication, improve security, and simplify user access across your organisation.

Availability

SSO is available on the Birdi Ultimate Plan only.

SSO setup also includes an additional monthly fee on top of your existing Birdi subscription.

For pricing and setup information, please contact the Birdi team.

What is SSO?

Single Sign-On, or SSO, allows users to log in to Birdi using their organisation-managed credentials instead of a separate Birdi password.

For example, your team may be able to sign in using:

  • Microsoft Entra ID

  • Okta

  • Google Workspace

  • Other enterprise identity providers

Supported identity providers

Birdi supports SSO through WorkOS, enabling connection to providers supporting:

  • SAML

  • OIDC (OpenID Connect)

Common supported providers include:

  • Microsoft Entra ID

  • Okta

  • Google Workspace

Additional providers may also be supported depending on your organisation’s requirements.

Benefits of SSO

Using SSO can help your organisation:

  • Centralise user authentication

  • Improve account security

  • Enforce company password policies

  • Support multi-factor authentication (MFA)

  • Simplify onboarding and offboarding

  • Reduce password management overhead

How SSO works in Birdi

Once enabled:

  1. Users navigate to the Birdi login page

  2. They enter their organisation email address

  3. Birdi redirects them to your organisation’s identity provider

  4. Users authenticate using their work credentials

  5. They are securely redirected back into Birdi

Important notes

  • SSO must be configured before users can sign in using organisational credentials

  • Existing Birdi accounts may need to be linked to your organisation’s SSO configuration

  • Workspace permissions are still managed within Birdi

  • Guest users may still use standard Birdi login depending on your organisation settings

  • Additional setup and ongoing monthly fees apply
