Visualize and filter your geospatial data across time
The Timeline View in Birdi Map 2.0 gives you an interactive way to explore how your data changes over time. Currently available only in the Ultimate Plan, this feature lets you filter, organize, and display data by capture date (or upload date, if capture metadata is missing). Whether you want to track inspections, compare datasets, or simply see historical changes, the Timeline View makes it easier to work with time-based geospatial data.
Opening the Timeline View
Go to the Layers tab.
Click the calendar icon to open the Timeline View.
You’ll notice some features and actions are disabled in this view—these will appear greyed out.
To exit the Timeline View, simply click the calendar icon again.
Filtering Data by Time
Use the date selector to quickly set a start and end date.
Alternatively, use the interactive time bar to drag and adjust the visible time range.
Data uploaded. or created (Via processing) is displayed as a blue line along the timeline, based on the capture date. If capture date metadata is missing, Birdi will use the upload date instead.
Annotations added are displayed as a green line along the timeline.
Working with the Interactive Time Bar
The time bar gives you fine-grained control over your data timeline:
Zoom in for greater detail, down to hours.
Drag and drop the highlighted block to shift the selected period.
Adjust the edges of the block to expand or shrink the timeframe instantly.
Viewing Data in Different Modes
Once a time period is selected:
The Layers tab and map view automatically filter to show only files relevant to that period.
You can switch to 3D view or full-screen Media view to further explore the filtered data.
