You can upload point clouds to your Birdi project with a Growth or Ultimate subscription.

Not on a Growth or Ultimate plan? You can upload images and process them into 3D outputs via our platform. If you’re on Plus, you can visualize them in Map View once the output has been generated.

Uploading Your Data

To use the viewer, you'll need to upload your point cloud file using the + map layer button and select upload 3D. Make sure your file is in .las or classified .las format.

Accessing the 3D Viewer

Once your data is uploaded and processed:

  1. Navigate to the relevant map page.

  2. Right-click the layer and select View Pointcloud.

The first load may take some time. Once rendered, you can explore your model in 3D.

Annotations are not saved between sessions. Be sure to record any measurements or insights before closing.

Measurement Tools

Our viewer includes six measurement tools:

  • Angle: Measure the 3D angle formed by three points. Click the angle icon and left-click each of the three points. The measurement completes after the third click.

  • Point: View the XYZ coordinates of a specific point by clicking the point icon, then selecting the point of interest.

  • Distance: Measure distances between multiple points. Click the distance icon, select your points, and right-click to complete.

  • Height: Measure vertical distance between two points. Select the height icon, click your two points, and the height will be calculated.

  • Area: Calculate horizontal area within a polygon. Click the area icon, mark at least three points, and right-click to finish.

  • Height Profile: Create a height profile across selected points. Click the height profile icon, select two or more points, then right-click to generate the profile. Additional options like "Show 2D Profile" are available under the Scene section.
