Overview
Styling and customizing your annotations in Birdi is a quick and straightforward process. Follow these steps to rename layers, add descriptions, adjust styles, and modify attributes.

How to access the layer toolbox
Select the layer in the Layers panel (on the left) to open its Layer toolbox
How to rename the annotation
Click on the layer name in the Layer toolbox.
Type in the new name and press Enter to confirm.
OR: You can double click or right click on the layer from the Layer panel
How to change annotation details and metrics
In the Notes section of the Layer toolbox, add a description to provide more context about the layer’s purpose.
Change the metric units for the layer’s area value if necessary. This ensures accurate representation and clarity.
How to customize and style your annotation
Click on the Style tab in the Layer toolbox.
From here, you can adjust the following
Colour: Select a color that best represents your layer. Your layer will automatically be assigned a random colour.
Opacity: Modify the transparency of the layer to enhance visibility and layering.
Style: Change the annotation style to match your project’s needs, for example a full line or dashes.
How to view label your annotation
With each annotation you can create a custom label depending on the fields that are available. For example you may want to display the annotation name and the area of each measurement:
How to view Layer Attributes
Click on the small Table icon in the style panel.
This opens a table where you can view and edit the layer’s attributes.
You can export this table as a csv
By following these steps, you can ensure your annotations are clear, informative, and visually aligned with your project requirements.
