How to select the best processing preset for your capture

What is the majority of your capture area over?

One of the key factors in drone data capture is defining the capture area. This refers to the specific region or area that the drone is intended to capture imagery of. Understanding the majority of your capture area is crucial for efficient and effective processing.

There are several preset options available to help you get the best outputs from your data.

These include:

  • Trees | Vegetation,

  • Trees & Structures,

  • Structures,

  • Structures & Land,

  • Land & Agriculture, and

  • Mining & Resources.

Each preset option is designed to give you the best processed outputs based on the majority of your capture area. For example, if your capture area is predominantly over trees/vegetation, then you’d select the Trees | Vegetation preset.

We recommend reviewing your data and selecting the preset that has about 80% of coverage. If you are unsure of the coverage, we have a custom option that you can select and populate.

Trees | Vegetation

This preset is ideal for forestry, agriculture, and environmental monitoring applications. The drone is programmed to capture high-resolution imagery of the trees and vegetation in the area, which can be used to create detailed maps and assess the health and condition of the plants.

Trees & Structures

This preset is similar to Trees | Vegetation, but also includes structures such as buildings and infrastructure. This preset is ideal for urban planning and infrastructure assessment applications.

Structures

This preset is ideal for construction, architecture, and real estate applications. The drone is programmed to capture high-resolution imagery of the structures in the area, which can be used to create 3D models and assess the condition of the buildings.

Structures & Land

This preset is ideal for surveying and mapping applications. The drone is programmed to capture high-resolution imagery of the structures and land in the area, which can be used to create detailed maps and assess the terrain.

Land & Agriculture

This preset is ideal for agriculture, land management, and environmental monitoring applications. The drone is programmed to capture high-resolution imagery of the land in the area, which can be used to assess soil health, crop growth, and land use.

Mining & Resources

This preset is ideal for mining, oil and gas exploration, and environmental monitoring applications. The drone is programmed to capture high-resolution imagery of the mining site or resource area, which can be used to assess the resources available and monitor environmental impacts.

By selecting the appropriate preset, you can ensure that the drone is programmed to capture the specific data needed for your application. This can result in more accurate data, improved efficiency, and better decision-making capabilities.
