The Split Screen View in Birdi Map 2.0 lets you compare two layers side‑by‑side with a draggable slider—perfect for spotting change between surveys, processing outputs, or different capture dates. This feature is available on the Ultimate Plan only.

Opening the Split Screen View

  • On the map, go to the view buttons at the bottom centre.

  • Click Split Screen to enter the view.

  • To exit Split Screen, switch to 2D, 3D, or Media view.

Selecting Layers to Compare

  • Use the left and right dropdowns to choose the two layers you want to compare.

  • Only layers that are already uploaded to the map and in supported formats will appear.

  • Supported formats (for now): raster layers — GeoTIFF (.tif/.tiff) and DEMs.

  • We’re exploring additional file formats.

Tip: Name layers with dates (e.g., Stockpile_2025‑08‑15.tif) so they’re easy to identify.

Working with the Compare Slider

  • Drag the central slider left or right to reveal each layer.

  • Zoom in for greater detail and pan the map to inspect specific areas.

  • For best results, ensure both layers cover the same area and have similar resolution.

Viewing Data in Different Modes

  • Split Screen is designed for direct, side‑by‑side comparison on the map.

  • When you’re finished, switch to 2D, 3D, or Media to continue exploring a single view.

Key Points to Remember

  • Ultimate Plan only.

  • Enter/exit via the bottom‑centre view buttons (choose Split Screen to enter; 2D/3D/Media to exit).

  • Compare two uploaded raster layers (GeoTIFF/DEM). More formats coming soon.

  • Interactive slider for quick change detection; zoom for fine detail.
